Paul Flache, a 38-year-old Peterborough, Ontario native has coaching, and player development experience gained through over a decade operating elite training facilities and coaching at various levels of the game. Paul grew up playing Junior hockey in the Ontario Hockey League with the Brampton Battalion from 99-02 during which he was drafted to the NHL by the Edmonton Oilers (2000) and Atlanta Thrashers (2002). Paul signed his first NHL contract with the Thrashers and began his professional career in 2002. Following his entry level deal, Paul signed with the New York Islanders and played in their farm system. Over a 10 year span, Paul spent seasons in the AHL, ECHL, and Germany. Paul was also captain of the Gwinnett Gladiators for 2 seasons and an Assistant in another.
Paul's coaching career began following his retirement in 2012 with the TPH Thunder program. Paul worked with the U16 and U18 teams for 6 years developing and advancing student athletes to the next level. Paul then served as the Associate coach of the Flint Firebirds of the Ontario Hockey League. The birth of his daughter brought Paul back to Atlanta from Flint to be with his family and he spent last season with the Atlanta Phoenix Program. Paul resides in Atlanta with his wife and daughter.
Coach Paul brings a pro-hockey-like structure to the program that is very regimented and detail oriented. Teaching players to prepare mentally and physically on a daily basis will equip them with the tools to succeed at the next level.
